Extended Route Distances

While real-world flights do not strictly follow direct airport-to-airport distances, pilots are expected to fly routes that remain within a reasonable and realistic flown distance for their departure and arrival airports.

Walker Air Transport automatically evaluates every flight using a proprietary route analysis system that considers factors such as geopolitical concerns, airspace and overflight restrictions, ATC vectoring, operations on online ATC networks, VFR or sightseeing operations, base training flights, and other legitimate operational requirements.

Flights that significantly exceed these reasonable operational allowances may be automatically rejected.

Holding patterns and excessive route extensions are not permitted unless they are the result of instructions received while operating on an online ATC network such as VATSIM, PilotEdge, or POSCON. Outside of online ATC operations, intentionally remaining airborne to increase flight time, points, or hours is not permitted.

If you need to step away from the simulator for an extended period prior to descent or arrival, please use the Top of Descent Pause feature available in ACARS rather than entering holding patterns or circling the destination area.

If you believe your flight was rejected in error, please submit a ticket through the website so the Business Office can review the flight and make a determination.
